About Us
The 2004 Vintage is the first release and introduction to Running Tigers® Syrah.
This adventure into ownership started simply as turning a passion for enjoying a great bottle of wine or teaching others to appreciate a great wine (with A Color of Grape Wine Tours and Education). Through relationships with other wine makers, vintners, and other label owners, to finally, after consulting with friend and mentor Mac McDonald, a decision was made to create our own label and brand.
Why the name, Running Tigers? Tigers are my favorite exotic wild animals and I've always thought they were graceful, sleek, with a certain character that always got and captured your attention (sounds like a wine description). I discovered a tiger's stripe pattern is unique to that tiger's, much like a fingerprint. The pattern is consistent not only on the hair, but it is also embedded into the tiger's skin.
Running because of the fluid and constant motion, in which it changes direction with ease and grace. (Again like a great wine)
